Rob has been married to Sandi for 31 years. They purchased their first golden retriever puppy in 1974, “Buffy”. This was Rob’s puppy from the start as she bonded to him right away. Before "Buffy" Rob was not a dog lover. After working through the challenges of putting a CD on “Buffy” all by himself, that all changed.

Rob was Sandi’s biggest supporter when she  wanted to start Golden Rule School for Dogs. He was willing to do all he could to get the building just the way she wanted it and he always works with Sandi when she has a brainstorm about the building. Anything the school needs done, Rob is there; making sure the heat works, installing the air conditioners, plowing the snow from the parking lot, and yes occasionally working one of Sandi’s new puppies in Beginners I Obedience classes.  It's not uncommon to hear Sandi in class saying "Rob I need you to build me something" and a week or two later that something is in the building, ready for use. Needless to say Rob is Sandi’s #1 fan and cheerleader.

Rob is also the best puppy greeter in the school ! He loves to play with and hold all the student’s new puppies. As soon as a student gets a new pup they make sure Rob is available for puppy play time!
